About David Junod
Creator... work in computer software, electronics, acrylic, watercolor, pen, pencil, wood, plastic, metal, fiberglass, cloth, leather, cars...
I've been drawing and painting since I was a young child, after watching my mother painting as a hobby. Through elementary, middle and high school, I drew many pictures and painted many paintings. I was always being asked to draw or paint something for this or that display for the school. In middle school I was responsible for the sets of a couple of plays. I also experimented with stop gap animation and other film production techniques using my father's Super 8 video camera and editing station. During high school, I took all the art classes that I could, just so that I could spend as much time as possible drawing and painting. In 1981 at the young age of 17 I became a father and had to start earning a living to support my family, so my professional focus became another one of my great loves, software development. Over the years I still drew pen drawings from time to time, but it wasn't until 2003 I decided to start painting again. I came up with the goal of 500 paintings. I painted 6 paintings and then stopped until 2010 when I started painting again on a regular basis. Since starting to paint again, I'm now up to over 150 paintings. Eventually, I will have them all scanned in and prints available.
Favorite artists of mine have been Norman Rockwell, Charles Schulz, Frank Frazetta, Escher, Salvador Dali, Bill Watterson and Theodor Seuss Geisel.
